Kamstrup Use Case
Multi-Sourcing and Disruption Management
Kamstrup AS, a global leader in smart energy and water metering solutions, manufactures high-precision devices that heavily rely on electronics and sensors. Its manufacturing processes include PCB assembly, testing, and mechanical assembly, all of which require highly specialized components.
Recently, Kamstrup faced significant challenges due to widespread component shortages and complex supply chain disruptions. To address these challenges effectively, the MAASive project focuses on improving Kamstrup’s value network orchestration and operation, at both tactical and operational level, using advanced MaaS technologies. By treating suppliers as service providers, MAASive allows Kamstrup to:

-
Develop standardized methods for discovering and connecting to new manufacturing services
-
Pre-qualify alternative suppliers quickly, ensuring better flexibility in their value networks
-
Simulate and assess the impact of disruptions using digital twins of both internal processes and suppliers
-
Enhance value network orchestration to improve planning and coordination when shifts occur due to disruptions
This solution significantly improves resilience by enabling Kamstrup to respond more dynamically and rapidly to external disruptions, thereby ensuring the continuity of production across its industrial manufacturing processes.
