Last week at I-ESA 2026 in Madeira, Franco Chiriacò represented MAASive in a collaborative session on Manufacturing-as-a-Service (MaaS), bringing together several EU-funded projects: NARRATE Project, MaaSiveTwin Project, MaaSAI, DMaaST EU Project, Lasers4MaaS.

The workshop highlighted the strong synergies across projects, all contributing to more resilient and data-driven manufacturing ecosystems.

Key discussion points included:

• Data security, availability, and interoperability

• The need for standardisation from early project stages

• Integrating sustainability and circularity into MaaS platforms

• The role of digital marketplaces in responding to disruption

Each session sparked valuable exchanges between researchers and practitioners, reinforcing the importance of cross-project collaboration to scale impact at European level.
