From 31 August to 4 September 2025, the MAASive consortium participated in APMS 2025 in Japan, co-organising the special session “Enhancing Value Chain Resilience through Digital Technologies”.
The session explored how digital technologies can strengthen the resilience, agility, and sustainability of global value chains in the face of growing disruptions, including geopolitical tensions and climate change. Key topics included:
Resilience frameworks and metrics
Decentralised and digital manufacturing
Sustainability in value chains
Tools for Manufacturing-as-a-Service (MaaS)
Gamification for skill development
During the session, MAASive presented the paper “Serious Game to Promote Manufacturing-as-a-Service Effect in Resilience of Supply Chain”, introducing a structured approach to designing serious games that simulate real supply chain scenarios, helping stakeholders understand the potential of MaaS in building flexible, service-oriented production networks.
The session fostered valuable dialogue, bridging digital innovation with resilient manufacturing practice.
